The Lido can be reached using the normal public transport of ACTV, leaving Venice, the railway station ( Ferrovia) and the garage Piazzale Roma by line 1, 51, 61 or else, more comfortably, by driving the car onto the ferry – boat ( service from the Tronchetto). There is also a tourist airport “G. Nicelli” situated at the northern end of the island.
Together with the neighbouring historic centre of Venice, from spring to Autumn the Lido offers an important calendar of sporting, social and folklore events, and is the setting for the most significant shows in the world of the art and culture.
The historic centre of Venice, which is in every way complementary to the Lido, can be visited as a fascinating alternative to sunbathing on the beach.
